Last week-end, our Katimavik group volunteered in a grocery store. We were raising money for a food bank in Matane. We wrapped the clients'groceries . I wrapped so much meat, I couldn't believe it. I needed that to realize that we consume a lot of meat in our society. As we have a vegetarian in my group (there is also our project leader) and there are already vegetarian meals on our table, I decided to introduce myself in the vegie world.
On the other side, I think that meat is an essential part of our nutrition. That's why I'm only trying the experience for one week. I still do something different for 7 days. I make myself realize that I can definitely survive without meat and I discover some new vegeterian meals.
After that week, I will probably eat less meat, which is good and respectful for the environment.
Ironically, I got sick for one day this week. Hopefully, it's not related to my lack of meat...
I really like my job here in Matane. The people I work with are so nice. They appreciate you so much and they have absolutely no mischief. It's a very good experience so far. There's a picture my friend Nikki took yesterday during the Friday afternoon bowling.
Youpiii! Aurelio the vegetarian! I really hope you get to try nice vegeterian meals and that you get converted to it :D
